Leicestershire Veteran Ladies Tennis Association
 | The LVLTA hold a Winter Tournament each year. This year, 2009-2010 will be the associations 20th Winter Tournament. The tournament is for ladies who are 40+ and runs from September until April. |
Unlike the summer league this is not a team tournament. This year we have a number of doubles partnerships entered into the competition.
Players are divided into divisions. There are 17 of these divisions of varying standards to cater for all abilities. In each division there are 8/9 couples from various clubs in Leicestershire/Rutland and so each partnership will play 7 or 8 matches - roughly 3/4 home and 3/4 away. Each match is 3 short sets, i.e. tie-break at 6 all.
The matches are played between September and April at a time mutually convenient to both parties. We recommend that at least 2/3 of your matches are played before Xmas
Once they have entered the competition, players will receive a chart which identifies which of their matches are at home and which are away. Players are then responsible for organising the Home matches (at whichever venue they select) and for providing good quality balls and light refreshments afterwards (tea/cake/biscuits).We will let you know how are players get on....
